Disturbing story of the relationship between a middle aged man and an 11 year old girl. An uncomfortable read where nothing is black and white. 5/10

Thought provoking book, hard to condemn this man completely, but we really know all the time it is going to end in heartbreak and his actions could never have been right. 6/10

An account of an ill-judged “friendship” between an 11 year old girl and a 50 year old divorced man who has just buried his father. The man becomes obsessed with the girl, goes away with her and fails to see the great harm he causes. The simple dialogue, which accounts for most of the story, belies the true nature of what is happening, is very unsettling and, in parts, is barely credible. 5/10
