Peaches for Monsieur le Cure

Well written, excellent descriptions of food, tastes and smells. I enjoyed the story in parts, but generally too whimsical for me.

Great read with a many faceted plot. She tackles different cultures and their clashes with great skill and all with an element of mystique.

Some people in the group didn’t like the magical element while others thought it added to the story. Some thought the story could have been told in a shorter novel, too much repetition.

The novel got 6 to 7 marks.
